Not for Glocks
Unfortunately, this isn't going to work (safely) for a Glock 26 or a Glock 19, so I have to send it back.01. The inside locking mechanism is in the way. In the pictures, you'll see the Glock safely pointed away from the person opening the safe, but in that configuration, I can't close the lid because the locking mechanism sits directly against the handle of the Glock and prevents the lid from closing since there is no "give" there like the rest of the foam areas. You could probably force it, but then you're risking damage to the Glock, the safe, or maybe even yourself if it should somehow cause an accidental discharge.02. I can turn the Glock around so the butt is at the top of the safe, and the barrel is running on the right side to get it to close, but then, everytime you open it, you're automatically flagging yourself. Not good. Especially if you're reaching under a car seat to get it when you need it in a sticky situation and adrenaline is pumping.03. As noted above, I can close the lid and lock it while the Glock is pointed at me, but because of the foam, which is needed, you really have to force the lid down about 2 inches. This is something I feel is another potential safety risk as the lid should close, but not in a way that is adding crazy pressure on the Glock and could potentially be the cause of an accidental discharge if foam is pressing all over the trigger.There's no way a holster is going around this thing either. Even a sticky would add just too much bulk to get the kid to close safely.I think this could work fine on a slimmer setup, but you might still run into some of these concerns. Personally, I think something with a bit more depth is needed and I'll also be checking for the lock mechanism locations as I search for alternatives.
